Our European Adventure

This is where we will keep you updated about our experiences as we embark on our move to Germany.

We made the trip back to the states on Friday.  We are recovering, takes a while to get used to the time change.  Looks like 1 Dec will be the magical date to move.  Getting ready to sign the lease for the apartment this week.

We moved up to Mainz, which is just outside of Frankfurt on Friday afternoon. Tracey was awake for this trip up the Autobahn, and she can officially say she is not a fan of the fast speeds. I of course enjoyed the chance to go 200kph, or 124 mph. We will be up here until we leave for the states on Friday the 10th. I have some customers to meet and also have a Customer Briefing, which is when we take our customers into one of our briefing centers to highlight all our current products. Should be a fun week, we are staying on the Rhine River, we have a view of it from our room. Talk to you all soon.

With house-hunting over, I have been heading out to the bases to meet some of my new customers. It has been great meeting them. I have taken Tracey to the BX and the Commissary to check out the products and prices and they are pretty much about the same as they are in the state. The meat is probably the one area that is really not up to the states. Also, there was only Folgers, Maxwell House and like one other coffee there, guess we will be bringing our coffee with us. The coffee on the German economy was $24.00 for 1000 grams or 2.2 lbs. Can you say we are buying coffee and putting it in our households good for shipping. And for those of you planning on coming over, rent will be charged in coffee.
